It takes five minutes to assemble, uses pantry staples, and showcases exactly why a great olive oil needs no embellishment. Serve it with a warm, crusty loaf and good company.
Ingredients:
1/2 cup Durango Olive Oil Company House Blend Olive Oil
2 tablespoons Durango Olive Oil Company Aged Traditional Dark Balsamic Vinegar
2 cloves garlic, finely minced
1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
1/2 teaspoon dried basil
1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
1/4 teaspoon coarse sea salt
Freshly cracked black pepper to taste
Crusty bread for serving (baguette, ciabatta, or sourdough)
Instructions:
Prepare the Base: Pour the House Blend Olive Oil into a wide, shallow dipping bowl or plate.
Add the Aromatics: Scatter the minced garlic, oregano, basil, red pepper flakes, salt, and black pepper directly into the oil.
Finish with Balsamic: Drizzle the Aged Traditional Dark Balsamic Vinegar over the top. Do not stir — the contrast of oil and balsamic pooling together is part of the presentation.
Rest: Let the dip sit for 5 minutes to allow the aromatics to bloom in the oil before serving.
